Printed Solid-Panel Pinnies

If a pinnie has to carry a sponsor, a council programme name or a school crest, the garment has to be specified for it. Branding is not something added to a mesh vest afterwards; it is a panel decided before the garment is knitted.

On open mesh a logo is physically full of holes, so fine detail disappears, thin type breaks up, and any solid area cracks along the knit as soon as it is washed hot. A closed-knit panel on the chest or across a yoke gives a continuous surface, which means the artwork can carry detail and will still be there next season.

It also changes the artwork advice. We will usually redraw a logo for this position free — heavier weights, fewer thin elements, one or two colours — because a mark designed for a letterhead rarely survives being reduced onto a chest panel on a garment that gets looked at from a touchline.

For funded and council programmes we can carry a funder mark and a programme name on the same panel without either fighting the number on the back.

Only with your approval, and only for this position. We redraw free for a chest panel viewed from a touchline — heavier weights, fewer hairline elements, one or two colours. You will see both versions side by side before anything is made.
